Still more on unhappy with central station
********************
Ken:
I read with intrigue the article on unhappy with central station. I have little doubt that this pertains to the sale from Acadian to AvantGuard who incidentally is listed on The Alarm Exchange. I say this because we are one of the dealers that was part of this.  AvantGuard’s planning and implementation of this transaction/conversion was and is woefully just terrible. We are now in week 5 of attempting to cleanup a terrible mess. While everyone at AG is pleasant they flat out fail miserably at being transparent in just what is going on in their efforts to right side a tilted ship.
In my 43 years as President of Illinois Alarm, a past Vice President of the then NBFAA and original architect the  NTS training program what I have experienced here in this transaction is simply beyond words.
In your response to the writer of that article you made mention that maybe you could contact the principle of AG, maybe he is not aware of what is happening, worse, in the alternative, if he does know that would really flabbergast me.
This has truly been a nightmare.

As a matter of fact the prior articles on Unhappy with Central Station did not pertain to Avantguard.
Let me start by saying that Avantguard is a very reputable monitoring center.  It’s innovative, attentive to its dealers and responsive to issues that arise.  That said, no dealer has asked me to “make a call”, and it’s probably premature.  I am not technical, but it’s been explained to me by experts that the problem is compatibility between central station operations.  Apparently there are a glitches, more than usual, in the transition from one central to another.
I don’t have to call Avantguard to know that they are aware of all the issues and doing all they can to rectify the matter.  Of course Avantguard and dealers need to take immediate steps to ensure the integrity of the subscriber’s security and fire alarm systems.  If there is any interruption of service subscribers need to be notified and instructed to arrange for temporary measures to protect their property and themselves.
A problem central station is one that is indifferent to the dealer problems, one that fails to own up to its responsibility and one that does less than its best to correct the problem and keep its dealers fully informed.
By the time this article is circulated I hope the issue is moot.
