The sprinkler company sent one technician and stated our technician would need to assist with the sprinkler inspection. Are we being opened to liability if assisting with this test? My tech explained he assisted by being at the panel confirming points tested. The sprinkler company tech explained their new policy is to send on tech and the fire alarm company be present to assist by being at the panel. The sprinkler tech asked for my tech’s name to document on his work order. Thoughts? Wayne ******************* Response ******************* I don't know what your contract covers; if just fire alarm monitoring then you will not be protected if you participate in a sprinkler system inspection. I hope you used the Fire All in One for the monitoring of the fire alarm [sprinkler monitoring would be covered by the fire alarm contract because you are involved only with the alarm device monitoring the sprinkler system]. When you filled that Fire All in One out and checked the monitoring RMR section, you should have also checked the Repair Service box and the Inspection box, even though repair and inspection would be "per call". If you had that then you would be protected on the sprinkler inspection because your Invoice would make it clear you were there for the alarm system only.
