          Those of you who are alarm.com dealers know that you should be using the K&K Alarm.Com Rider which not only will make you compliant with your agreement with alarm.com as a dealer, but will be a useful tool to enhance sales of alarm.com products.  As alarm.com continues to introduce new product the K&K Standard Alarm.com Rider gets updated, as does the Standard Form Agreements when change is necessary.
          Gun discharge detection is, unfortunately, a hot and timely issue.  You may find that this product is something that can add to your bottom line.  The Alarm.com gunshot detection product is hard wired (PoE) only. SDS Enterprise is offered in both wired and wireless.

          Alarm.com is releasing a gunshot detection product. Similar in size to a smoke alarm, the SDS Powered by Alarm.com system includes mounted sensors that are specifically designed to detect gunshots with an accuracy rate of 99.9%. The dual-mode sensor captures both the acoustic (i.e., bang) and infrared (i.e., flash) signatures of a gunshot, and the innovative technology then automatically sends alarms/notifications to building security personnel and first responders (via central station). Additional information, such as video clips and sensor locations, can enhance situational awareness and enable first responders to react more swiftly to these events.
          This offering incorporates the technology of Shooter Detection Systems (SDS), a subsidiary of Alarm.com, into the Alarm.com cloud. SDS is a global leader in gunshot detection technology. Initially developed and utilized in military environments, the SDS sensors are SAFETY Act certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and have since been deployed across the U.S. and internationally in various settings, including K-12 schools, universities, office buildings, medical facilities, retail establishments, stadiums, religious institutions, public transit, and numerous other venues.
          Security service providers and their customers are asking how they can use technology to address the gun violence issue. Gunshot detection is a critical component of life safety and security infrastructure.

· Differentiated Service Offering: Gunshot detection technology is unique and can help service providers get their foot in the door with clients. Everyone is pitching video, access, and intrusion, but helping clients address gun violence is a differentiator.

· Compelling Upsell / Add-On: Gunshot detection can be sold as a standalone system or as an add-on to video, access, intrusion, fire or other security and life safety quotes.

· Recurring Monthly Revenue (RMR): The SDS Powered by Alarm.com solution offers attractive RMR pricing strategy to drive new recurring revenue streams for security service providers (i.e., the software / monitoring service as well as test and inspection services using the patented SDS Handheld Testing Device).

With this release, Alarm.com service providers will be eligible to sell both the existing SDS Enterprise and the new SDS Powered by Alarm.com gunshot detection solutions. There are a few key differences between the SDS Enterprise and Powered by Alarm.com version that can help expand service providers’ total addressable market and meet different customer needs.
