Question

Ken,

Our ASA allows the customer to select total connect as a service and details out the costs.

Are you suggesting that there is special (additional) liability language (above and beyond what we currently have) that is necessary to offer Total Connect.?

Response

Yes, there is additional language in the Subscriber Enable Monitoring Service Contract that is not in the other contracts. It's worth getting if you provide that type of system and service.

Hi Ken,

The first time you mentioned the Subscriber Enabled Monitoring Service contract it sounded like it was designed for the client who does all of his own alarm monitoring without a central but the reality is that most dealers are likely providing central services and providing these additional "self monitoring" services as an add-on. Does the above provide for this scenario where it's not just self monitoring?

The Subscriber Enabled Monitoring Service Contract does not include central office monitoring. Use a Monitoring Contract for that service.

Question - total connect August 24, 2011

************

Ken,

I have purchased some of your legal contracts for my security business and I had a question for you about the new Honeywell TotalConnect service offerings.

Most of the alarm systems we install are TotalConnect ready and we give the customer the option to enable this service at the time of signing the monthly monitoring agreement or just choosing to activate it as a standard alarm system without the 2 way integration from the TotalConenct iPhone App or the website. Is there any new agreement available or supplementing the All-In-One contract I purchased to cover these newer services?
