MORE ON CERTIFICATES FROM FEBRUARY 4, 2015 ARTICLE
****************************
Ken,
Our central has never issued certificates for our subscriber’s insurance company.  Over the years we have fine-tuned our own.  I have only had one company ask for more information than our letter contains.  Below is the template for the letter we send out.  We save the letters for each subscriber in a data base & just change the paid through date each year.  Speaking of insurance…On reading our business insurance policy I noticed that there was a clause that stated that if we failed to arm the system and there was a break-in, the insurance would not pay.  I have begun to stress to our subscribers the importance both reading their  policy when they receive a discount for having a monitored system and of arming their system.  As an  honest property owner I find this disturbing.  I understand they are trying to prevent being scammed by someone faking a break-in just to collect but I still don’t like it.  As a security company owner it just emphasizes how crucial it is to have a good contract (yours) signed.  If more insurance companies follow this model, who do we think the subscriber is going to try to look to for reimbursement of a loss.  They probably would not win the case (if common sense prevails) but a good contract (yours) should cause them/their attorney to realize they have no case and not waste our time/money with a nonsense court case.
    Thanks for the great emails!

Ken,
When asked for a certificate or other verification USA Central Station provides a certificate that states something to the effect of the following in the body of the certificate
“The below listed installation company has requested central station services for the listed subscriber. Verification of any such services can be made in writing by the carrier, addressed to USA Central Station at the address listed below. “
When USA answers these we make it clear that there is no follow up notification service if the subscriber changes or cancels service.

Ken
re Sound Levels
Think back to Rowen and Martins laugh in......Very Interesting.
The code (depending on what rev level you read) for NY, no more than 110db.  So with that being said; over the past two years we have have gained extensive knowledge in this area.  The manufacture says that the H/S's are tested with UL to a range of 10 feet in an enclosed sound proof (coney) room.  So where's the problem.....?  Who's meter are you using?
