Remember Jeff Zwrin, I liked Jeff but he worked for anyone who paid the fees. Instead of being an "Alarm Expert" for the plaintiffs, the shingle should read "Truth Finder" or "Finder of Fault Professional". I could with some time come up with other labels for trained alarm professionals that investigate for plaintiffs. In you article of June 21st, 2025, the expert rightly in my opinion called gross negligence - gross negligence when he said that the inspection tech did not do the job, did not follow industry best practices or even better in a deposition stated that the company supervisor instructed never to place red or yellow tags on systems with deficiencies. For once I would like to hear stories from these "Alarm Experts" about the plaintiffs or plaintiff council that hired them where they turned in a report that showed no fault or negligence found against the alarm company defendant. Any professional that is willing to point the accusatory finger at a fellow alarm company should also be prepared to defend an innocent alarm company that is the target of a direct or subrogation claim against an alarm company. Just my thoughts Bart A. Didden, President U.S.A. Central Station Alarm Corp. Port Chester, NY Milford, CT St. Paul, MN Pasco, WA 877-872-1266 ********************** Response ********************** Alarm experts aren't really "self proclaimed". They often are recognized by courts and others in the industry as someone who possesses more knowledge than most. Jeff Zwirn, for example, is a well regarded alarm expert, having testified in many cases and having been engaged in many more cases to provide his expertise. I've recommended him to carriers. Alarm experts don't have to confine their services to one side of the issue or another. The industry shouldn't be upset that an alarm expert would assess a case and support the customer side; they have a right to make a living and they also have a right to uphold industry best practices and call out an offending alarm company when mistakes cause damage. Sure the carriers don't like these experts; why would they? But that's like saying a lawyer is a "bad guy" just because he sues alarm companies. How about being more careful applying your trade; and use Kirschenbaum Contracts TM that will get you out of most lawsuits against you. I want to thank Bart for his expert advise in articles on this forum. He is an asset to the alarm industry, and a real expert. ************************ STANDARD FORM AGREEMENTS: To order up to date Standard Form Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** WEBINARS: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-webinars *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
