Do you have a contract for lease/monitoring related to trailers like this? Thanks, Tim *********************** Response *********************** Yes, there is a specific K&K Standard Form Agreement for the temporary stand alone surveillance unit; its called COMMERCIAL MOBILE SURVEILLANCE LEASE and it's available on the K&K website order form here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-contract Several years ago I received a call from a Texas company who had designed and assembled his own stand alone unit and he asked for a contract. Since then the surveillance systems have become popular, not only in Texas, but many other places. These units are used at construction sites, car dealerships, farms and other outdoor venues. They are usually solar powered though some can be hooked up to electric or battery. They typically rely on radio or cellular to communicate. These systems are movable, though some are installed with less movement in mind. Keep in mind that if you're installing a fixed installed system you should probably use the Commercial All in One, in lease or sale format. The Mobile Surveillance Lease is, as named, a lease, which makes sense because its usually used temporarily at a site, though also usually movable to other areas at the site. The subscriber is typically required to lease the unit for a term, three to five years; the alarm dealer moves it around when requested. Some of these units stay in the same place for extended time; some are erected on poles, not on moveable trailers. Some alarm companies move the poles. The COMMERCIAL MOBILE SURVEILLANCE LEASE can be modified easily by describing the equipment and service in the Schedule of Equipment and Services. Since it's a lease the equipment remains the alarm dealer's property, has a specified agreed value and must be returned to the alarm dealer when the lease expires. I've seen dealers use the Standard Fire All in One or Commercial All in One when providing "temporary" systems. This is dangerous because those contracts are not designed for "temporary" systems, whatever that might mean. If you're installing what you call a temporary system, especially one that can be moved around by a GC as construction progresses, be sure the use the Lease form and describe your service and involvement carefully. If you're not sure which contract to use, call me; that's why you belong to the Concierge Program, and if you don't, now's a good time to join. ********************* STANDARD FORM AGREEMENTS: To order up to date Standard Form Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** WEBINARS: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-webinars *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
