Christopher ********************** Response ********************** Think about it. You have an All in One covering your services at a customer location. Customer calls and wants to move to new location, either taking some or all of the installed system and having you install it at a new location, or abandoning the system and having you install or take over an existing system and just provide the after-install services. How do you propose moving the equipment or even just begin providing services at the new location without some change in contract? You can't. If you can somehow salvage the existing contract how would you go about that? Maybe cross out the address for service on the contract and insert the new address, maybe changing services or maybe they are the same. The proper answer is you need a new contract as the best solution and the one offering the most flexibility. You know how to prepare a new contract for a new location, even if it is a "take-over" [be sure to use the Disclaimer Notice on take overs]. Preparing a Rider to the existing contract would be more challenging, even for you weekend lawyers. Furthermore, a Rider would make it more difficult to extend the term of the contract, among other issues. Best practice is a new contract. That contract might have to add that you are cancelling the existing contract, but be sure you don't put the subscriber in a better position, such as shortening the term remaining, unless you understand that you are doing that. A breach of the second contract, which canceled the first contract, should afford you at least the relief you'd have in the first contract.
