Important Security Alert: ClickFix Scam Awareness
***********************
Ken,
USA is keenly aware that cyber detection and cyber prevention is critical to our operations as well as our dealers. From time to time we send out emails to our dealers to alert them to attacks that may seem very benign but are very dangerous. This one is very innocent looking but is the latest craze and not only my dealers but everyone in our industry must remain vigilant at all times.
Many of my customers get these messages, but I am sure that a second source reinforcement won't hurt and remind them that we send out important stuff.
Thanks as always to getting the word out
Below is the memo I received from USA's VP of Operations alerting me to this urgent concern.
Bart A. Didden, President
U.S.A. Central Station Alarm Corp.
Port Chester, NY
Milford, CT
St. Paul, MN
Pasco, WA

I’m forwarding an important security bulletin regarding a newly identified cyber threat known as the "ClickFix" scam. This type of attack uses fake verification pop-ups that trick users into running malicious commands, which can result in stolen passwords and compromised systems.
Key points to be aware of:
Legitimate websites will never ask you to press keyboard shortcuts (like Win+R, Ctrl+V) to verify your identity.
If you encounter suspicious pop-ups or instructions, do not follow them—close the browser immediately.
If you believe you may have interacted with such a scam, disconnect your device from the internet and notify your IT support team right away.
Please take a moment to review the link below and share this information with your teams as needed. Staying vigilant is critical to protecting your systems and data.

Thank you for sharing this vital information with the industry. Cyber problems isn't a problem until it is, and then its a mess. Do your best to guard against it.  USA deserves a lot of credit for its educational information, shared not only with its dealers, but the industry.  It's a great example for other central stations.
