How to terminate fire alarm contract
***************************
Ken
Quick question. When letting a person out of a fire contract, commercial, what is the proper way to execute that? We have told him we need him to sign off on it so we are not liable and also will be calling the local code enforcement.   What else needs to be done?   We don't want to chase the money that we know will happen with this guy. Thanks,
Carol

It’s not clear if termination is because
  *  the contract term has expired
  *  the subscriber has stopped paying or is otherwise in breach of the contract and you want to terminate
  *  the subscriber wants to terminate
You are not obligated to permit your subscriber to terminate the contract early.  That’s called subscriber’s breach and there are consequences for that breach spelled out in the Legal Paragraph of the All in One Agreements.  K&K’s Collection Department supports our clients using our contracts through use of the arbitration clause.  Contact Kathleen Lampert at 516 747 6700 x 319 or KLampert@Kirschenbaumesq.com.  Concierge Clients can contact Concierge Program Coordinator Stacy Spector,Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304 or SSpector@Kirschenbaumesq.com
If you want to permit termination, or the term has expired, including any renewal term, you should document the termination.  Also if your service includes fire alarm monitoring, for commercial subscribers, be sure to notify the AHJ that your fire alarm monitoring services will or have terminated.  You don’t need a “sign off” by your subscriber, though it won’t hurt. You don’t need a specific release ending the relationship, though that too won’t hurt.  The Fire All in One [or residential all in one] has all the contractual protection you need, so as long as you are following the procedure in the All in One you should be sufficiently protected from claims.
Do not monitor, repair or inspect fire alarms without a current written Kirschenbaum Contract ™.

Street address or PO on contract

Ken
I wasn’t sure if I should use my PO Box street mailing address or my Home Office address?  The PO Box street address looks way more professional

It shouldn’t matter if you use street address or PO Box address, though your jurisdiction may require the street address.  You will need to check your licensing agency or consumer agency, or both.  Even if street address is required you will be able to use the PO Box on top of contract and disclose the street address elsewhere in the contract.  PO Box is most likely acceptable in most jurisdictions. Anyone know if that’s not the case, and where?
