My tech drilled in through the bottom of a Firetrol FAT1000-AM50B Electric pump. We were told to always drill from the bottom, and I have found out its because of the shavings it can make they don’t want dropping from the top into the board, they had some one get hurt from an explosion supposedly from shavings dropping down. My tech did forget to go back and clean up the shavings it left when drilling. Electrician drilled from the top through a sticker that says DO NOT DRILL THROUHG WILL VOID WARRANTY FROM SHAVINGS. They said they were told if they keep it clean and carefully do it that it would be OK its just not recommended to do. They did do a clean job and took pictures of it cleaned and were very careful. Daybreak the Manufacturer Rep went out saw my guys shaving on the bottom that he forgot to clean and said they will not warranty or certify it because the shavings that were left could of came from the top and that precautions were not taken. He did turn this into fire troll and said it would be up to them and Firetrol said there is no guarantee were they came from so it needs to be replaced. They want me to replace the 11K$ panel now because they say its my fault for not cleaning, but shaving can not go up. The shavings will happen no matter what because a hole has to get drilled out and we did per there required location. I agree my guy should cleaned his mess but is this legally right for them to Void this over what really to means seems unreasonable, is there any fight to this or am I just screwed? name withheld ************************ Response ************************ I have no clue, but I bit we can get some valuable advice from the experts .... ************************* STANDARD FORMS Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at ww.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** THE ALARM EXCHANGE - the alarm industries leading classified and business exchange - updated daily ************************* Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
