Extra charges for run away signals

Do your contracts have a provision for run away signals and fees for those?

This is a good question.  I may not have the answer you'd like and I'll need to know if this is something that should be addressed in the contracts.
The Standard Form Agreements do not explicitly authorize you to charge for run away signals.  Reference to run away signals appear in two provisions"
    1.  The Monitoring Provision has the following:
"ALARM COMPANY may, without prior notice, suspend or terminate its services, in ALARM COMPANY’s sole discretion, in the event of ... or Subscriber’s alarm system is sending excessive false alarms or runaway signals, without relieving Subscriber’s obligation to make payments required in paragraph 4. Upon suspension or termination of services, ALARM COMPANY will notify Subscriber of such termination and the balance owed by Subscriber for the term of this agreement."

    2.  The false alarm provision has this provision:
"Subscriber is responsible for all alarm permits and fees, agrees to ... indemnify or reimburse ALARM COMPANY for any fees or fines relating to permits or false alarms"

Run away signals would be considered false alarms, though the false alarm provision is really to design against municipal fines.  We can easily add charges from Monitoring Centers imposed for run away signals or false alarms".
I didn't know this was still a problem in the industry.  If it is, let me know and we can add this change to our updates.
