Virtual Doorman service and contract

Ken
We have one new account for a HOA. We will be replacing a guard at the entrance to the property.  We will be controlling access to allow/deny vehicles to enter the property, which has high end homes. Is this covered by virtual doorman?

Replacing doormen and guards is becoming more popular with commercial customer, apartment and housing complexes, properties and commercial sites.  While stationary guards certainly provide a level of security they are expensive and possibly replaceable by a camera, access control, two-way audio and monitoring. A gate or door is “manned” virtually. A camera picks up movement or a button is activated, cameras send video and audio is activated; the monitoring operator speaks to the person and either permits access or doesn’t.
The Virtual Doorman also covers what I call escort service throughout the building or property.  Essentially cameras and possibly audio is installed wherever access is permitted [or not permitted].  For example, once access is granted at the front door there are cameras viewing the mailman on his way to the mail-room.  Cameras can be installed to escort the Pizza Delivery guy to every apartment or each home in the community.
For property sites instead of roving guards there are strategically placed cameras to monitoring the site and the same escort service could be provided.
How do you price this service?  Good question and you need to discuss it with your monitoring center.  First, make sure the central station is capable of providing the service.  There are central stations that specialize in this service and you need to find out the monitoring charge for whatever service you are providing.  Obviously there is going to be different pricing by the central station for more access points and surveillance devices as well as the anticipated traffic at these sites.  Hopefully the cost will be less than stationary guards.
The appropriate contract for this service is the Virtual Doorman Agreement.  You can get by with the Commercial All in One but you will have to cover certain points and provisions in your Schedule of Equipment and Services.  If the only service you are providing is the virtual doorman then use the Virtual Doorman Agreement; if door access and camera surveillance is part of other security services [like intrusion] the Commercial All in One can be used with modification in the description of services.
