comments on statistics for home alarm systems

Fantastic statistics. I would be interested if anyone knows out of all the break ins how many of those cut the phone line prior to entering?

Homeowners and renters don't know much about house construction. Some buy the most expensive door lock there is, with key that looks like it would start a UFO, and that's their security. Well, burglars don't pick locks. Burglars use brute force - break window, kick door, or take the roof apart. The way houses are built, it doesn't even make lot of noise to break in. On the other hand, alarm system makes lot of noise, and notifies the Central Station, but having visible alarm system may prevent burglary. Expensive door locks attract burglars: "What do you have there you're trying to lock"?

comments on insurance for alarm companies - GL and E&O

More on GL, E&O and IP Network Insurance—

Today Insurance coverage needs to extend to GL with E&O for Consulting, Design, Workmanship & Monitoring coverage’s; and also extend to IP Network exposures as ID theft Liability, E-Mail & Web Sits Virus attacks including Monitoring Frailer --and other Internet exposures are nor included in a GL/E&O policy. Both “ONGOING” and “Completed Operations” Liability are needed for “On THE JOB” and “After THE JOB” which including Monitoring.

Sub-Contractor Insurance Coverage including Monitoring, Installation & Services needs to include the same coverageÂ’s as the Alarm Dealer. To review all the exposures and coverageÂ’s for your understanding--- of all the issues. Please Contact Mike Kelly at 800-329-5355 or at MJK@MJKINSURANCE.COM

The article seems to have made an error. It should have stated "in addition to" not "instead of".

The GL covers claims from bodily injury and property damage. Errors & Omissions covers things like negligent hiring, training and supervision and also design errors.

They are 2 separate coverages but both equally important.

The E&O policies include general GL as far as I know.

Some companies ask totally unreasonably high auto insurance, and don't have drive-in property. You park several blocks away on public street. Does that make sense? Do you even need to have vehicle? Network technicians or copy machine technicians have tool bag on wheels like airline stewardess luggage. Many union workers have material delivered to job site by distributor and come to work by public transportation.
