Hopefully someone from the association will respond with the explanation as what this is, how it came to be and expectations after the rule is written. Bart ************************* Response ************************* One problem is that it won't be "someone from the association" with an "explanation". The law is clearly written; it's how it gets interpreted and enforced that's the problem. The underlying premise that the installer or central station should be responsible for false alarm s is also faulty. Just not a good idea, especially if you're the installer or central station. Just occurred to me; this adds a new level of risk on a take-over since you may not know what mess you're getting into. ************************* another comment ************************* Ken We have the best government money can buy. If the New York State burglar firearm association is involved in this, then everybody in New York needs to divest themselves from that association; who the hell are they to put a bug in the ear of this idiot governor to fine for false alarms; that’s like a fart in church. No one likes it. Mike ************************** Response ************************** I don't know what the rationale was for ADT and NYELSA to back this proposal. ************************** Ken, If this bill is signed, it would be a major problem for alarm companies, it would squeeze profits from the little guy. What can we do to stop it? Kind regards, Christine ************************* Response ************************* I believe this bill is in "introduced" status; it has not been signed into law by the governor [who you may have heard has bigger fish to fry]. Hopefully she won't sign it. What can you do? Let's see.... identify the members of the state senate and assembly who signed onto this bill and vote them out of office. BTW, you may have heard, those of us in NY, especially NYC, have bigger fish to fry too. ************************* STANDARD FORM AGREEMENTS: To order up to date Standard Form Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** WEBINARS: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-webinars *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
