Ken
On your 6/10/17 question from the company doing work in both the alarm and sprinkler/suppression areas looking for insurance options: while there is more risk in that combo, there are definitely more avenues available than just the three he listed.
We’ve gotten Fire Sprinkler/Suppression work covered under an alarm company’s general liability policy, other times we’ve set up a separate policy for that work, it really depends on the percentages of work in each area, and the claims history involved.  This is a good example of a scenario where it helps to have a broker that shops for you rather than an agent tied to just one insurer.

Ken,
In response to Insurance for alarm and fire suppression, most of the alarm specific insurance programs specifically do not want any fire suppression work being done.  Unless there is a rare exception like very limited Fire Suppression work or a very large account, you have to approach a carrier that has the Fire Suppression Program and they would pick up both the Alarm & Fire exposure on their General Liability and E & O form.  A few carriers that have these programs would be Rockhill, Scottsdale and Everest, however the fire suppression market is even more limited than the alarm only insurance markets so it will depend on specifics (claim history, company size, ops breakdown, etc.)
    Thanks

Thanks to these brokers who took the time to contribute their expertise.  See their listing on The Alarm Exchange.  One bit of advice - getting fire alarm or fire suppression insurance coverage is going to be easier if you have the Fire All in One [for fire alarms] and the Fire Protection All in One [for suppression]
