Ken,
Tell ‘’Anonymous’’ to add the fee to the invoice.  (that’s what we do).
And send an invoice to ‘’ Anonymous’ for an hour of your time for being so clueless.  Also send me a case of good beer for sharing ‘’trade secrets.’’

Ken:
The local AHJ are all now using this ‘online reporting’ and we just add it to what the customer is charged.
We had one rather large apartment complex that squawked as our invoice hit them right in the middle of their budget and the Fire Marshal let them slide that year with the understanding the next year the full amount would be charged – they agreed to this.
I would rather stay in good graces with the Fire Marshal than be a pain in the butt they hate to deal with….
    Just my thoughts….
 Respectfully,
Joseph (Joe) Pfefer, President & Founder
Jade Alarm Co.

The Standard Fire Alarm All in One does provide that the subscriber is required to reimburse the alarm dealer for permits and fines, but I don’t know if this Fire Reporting Service fits either of those categories; I suspect not.  So the suggestion that the charge be passed along to the subscriber is an good and obvious one, though the contract with the subscriber is going to have to specify that reimbursable item; otherwise any expense you incur to a third party, other than permit fee, may end up being your responsibility and within the scope of your performance requirements.
Once you agree to a price for the installation and post-installation services you will need to provide that the charge imposed by third party services that you are required to use can be passed along to the subscriber as a reimbursable expense.
I need help understanding what this charge is and who is providing the service [one or more companies] so that this service and charge can be specified in the Fire All in One for reimbursement.
I’d appreciate a little help from the fire alarm experts.
