Nothing is free, my free system is $525.00 with more equipment then ADT and the other guys and I put about 100 in my pocket and a two year agreement for less then ADT charges and I save the customers over $1,200.00 during the life of the contract, simple arithmetic is all that is needed, do your investigating and you will have something to tell prospective customers.

Ken,
What is Mr. Miguel Largaespada smoking?  And why doesn't he identify himself with the company he represents?  Cynthia is correct!

COMMENTS ON LICENSED CONTRACTORS FROM FEBRUARY 3, 2016
***********************
Ken,
In California, not only does the state require the contractor to be licensed but they also require the employees of the contractor to be licensed to install fire alarm (DIR) and intrusion (BSIS) equipment. If a contractor or ACO hires a subcontractor to perform the installation, do they have a responsibility to ask the sub contractor to provide proper employee licensing?

Ken,
Slight correction to the contractor requirements for Louisiana & Mississippi.
Louisiana
All electrical contractors must obtain a state contractors license for electrical work to perform any job over $10,000. This was lowered from $50,000 not long after Hurricane Katrina hit.
Mississippi
A commercial license is also required for any contract involving the construction, reconstruction, repair or maintenance of fire protection systems on public projects over $5,000.00 and private projects over $10,000.00.
Thanks,

Always enjoy your rousing posts. Being a licensed general contractor in Oregon and Washington, there are heavy fines if any unlicensed contractor "subs" out any job or does any job. If you are a licensed contractor you can sub any job. If you want to do electrical jobs yourself as a contractor you need an additional electrical license tied to your general contactors license to get a permit to do the install legally. Utility companies have different rules.
