Ken
Sincere Raves and Accolades for The "Kenny Kontracts".. with a Tip of the Hat and a Pat on the Back.
I purchased several of your contracts right after the price increase, but the webinar discount felt warm and fuzzy. We have our own method of scheduling our equipment and services and I took liberties to tear up the contracts and pasting them back together to make a more suitable Frankenstein for our use. All of the citical clauses still whole and intact. Then armed with the New "Kenny Frankenstein Kontract" I went out to visit a client who had asked for a small addition to his existing system. With little other effort, the Kontract and the manner which if offered options and upgrades encouraged the client to consider additional equipment and services he had not considered before.
The Kontract caused the upgrade sale to increase from a $490 quoted addition to a $2,700 sale and brought the monthly RMR from a previous $32.00/month to $164.50/month on a ten year contract. There were other items that the contract exposed and brought forward which are now being discussed for another go round of additions. The contracts were signed today, the addition happens tomorrow and by the time we are complete, I bet there will be another purchase simply based on it being mentioned in the contract.
Just to be clear, not that I am a poor salesman and I hate to admit it, but the "Kontract" proved to be a better salesman then me and paid for my contract purchases the first day out of the box.
An After the fact thought and/or concern. I do/did have a previous contract with this client which had an Auto-Renew provision as well. While this older contract had all of the critical clauses as well, it is not the same. Is there any concern of the idea of 2 contract agreements (an older and a newer one) with the same client? Is there any concern of the old contract surviving if it might be less protective? or less costly? Should I make any effort to VOID any older contracts as I update my agreements with my clients
Thanks for all you offer

Thanks; always nice to get positive feedback. The All in One contracts were in fact designed to aid in sales and increasing RMR opportunities. How? By breaking up and separately charging for various components of available equipment and your services. Similar to the Disclaimer Notice the subscriber is faced with essentially being presented with all of the services and systems and if not contracting for them knowing that they won't be provided. Not only won't they be keeping up with their neighbors with all the "bells and whistles" but they also have to feel that they are assuming some risk by not taking advantage of all available security systems and services.
Many of you have already obtained the All in Ones, but many haven't. Don't wait. You will find these Standard Form Contracts to be the most up to date forms available and designed to protect and build your RMR and business. As for modifying the contracts on your own, I don't mind and wish you well. I wonder what my alarm company would think if I pulled apart the wiring in my panel on Saturday and tried to put it back together on Sunday to see what improvements I can come up with. If you do make changes I suggest you run them by me. You may have a great idea that we can incorporate into the contracts - justifying an update.
