I just want to emphasize how important it is to have your employees sign an Employment Agreement.  K&K Employment Agreements are as important as customer contracts and insurance. We had every hire sign before employment .  The time to start is TODAY !!!

That’s sage advice.  If you haven’t given it sufficient thought you don’t realize how complex employment law really is.  There are a myriad of laws that cover every aspect of the employment relationship.  To complicate matters there are federal and state laws and often city or local municipal laws that deal with the employment relationship.
Every employee should sign a K&K Employment Agreement.  If you have more than 10 employees an Employment Handbook is a good idea, though it’s not a substitute for an Employment Agreement
You will find that there are laws that pertain to time off, work schedule, hour calculation, minimum compensation, vacations, use of company property, restrictions, confidentiality, dress, behavior, disabilities, termination; it’s endless.
Here’s a scary example.  In New York you must have a written agreement detailing how a commissioned salesperson is to be paid.  What’s the penalty for not having that commission agreement in writing?  Well, in a lawsuit the only one allowed to testify is the salesperson; employer is not permitted to testify.  You can imagine how that dispute is going to turn out.
Did you know that if you pay your employees weekly [and you may be required to pay weekly] they have to get their paycheck within 3 days of the end of the work week?  There are sever penalties for employer’s non-compliance.
As Jim suggests, if you don’t have the K&K Employment Agreement today is a great time to get it and start using it.
