Comment on class action lawsuit against GE/Interlogix for combo panel from article on November 4, 2022

We’ve used InterLogix panels for a number of years but it’s interesting the panel I think being called out here(NX-8CF) hasn’t been made in quite a few years. Is there not a statue of limitations? Beyond that  domestic support & production of this line seized in 2019 I believe. I
I believe the product line is still alive & well in most other parts of the world like South America, Australia, Middle East, Europe, etc.
Just curious if others want to weigh in, the  reasoning behind the domestic withdrawal of this product line?(Per an SDM article I believe in 2018 the 3 most widely used alarm control panels in America were a Honeywell, InterLogix & Dsc). Just curious why a co. walks away from 1/3 of the domestic market??
Thank you

Back in April of 2009 we installed two nx-8e-cf ge fire panels.  After about a year both panels had "over current" troubles.
I disconnected everything from the panel(s) and it still had the overcurrent.  I called tech service and was told by one of their techs that they knew about the issue, and they were still sending panels out from the factory anyway.  The problem he said, was due to a manufacturing defect in the board.  He told me they figured that during the board manufacturing process a linewidth was bigger than it should have been and therefore it created an internal intermittent board short.

Maybe Jeff Zwirn can update us on how the class action is coming along and why it’s still relevant.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment.
