I have had the pleasure of working with 18 different firms and dozens of attorneys all over the United States while being the primary claims administrator for Security America, the only GL/E&O carrier that is owned by the industry for industry professionals. We understand our customers because they are us. I have administrated over 400 claims so well that the TPA team can triage claims without me and uphold the construction of the typical alarm industry contract. I have overseen claims with investigations and depositions that have taken the path of settlement and formal arbitration, while being fortunate not to be subjected to a jury trial where anything can happen. The Securitas example is a perfect example of why your readers should, at the very least, get a quote from Security America because we speak alarm language with our insureds and not legal jumbo to confuse or impress the alarm dealer. But 400 defense cases under your belt is a lot [I wont say, it looks it]. I've recommended Security America consistently. As Bart mentions, it is industry owned and they understand claims against alarm companies. I think its premiums are also cheaper or at least competitive. Not sure Bart is still Claims Administrator, but if not they should bring him back; he did a great job. The key to the best defense is the Kirschenbaum Contracts TM. There is no substitute.
