We’ve recently deployed a camera analytics program that allows us to report real-time when cameras go down or something is obstructed and for this service, we charge a monthly fee (usually $8.00/month per camera). This isn’t necessarily alarm related, so thinking the All-In-One is a bit over kill for this when only installing cameras but wondering if you had any recommendations as what document to use; maybe you’ve got some kind of recurring services contract we’ve never seen, or maybe the All in One is the best option? Big fan of having paperwork when someone agrees to pay a recurring charge. Thank you, Justin **************************** Response **************************** The Commercial All in One, like the Residential All in One is not strickly limited to electronic alarm systems. These contracts were re-named as "Security" agreements a long time ago. Other security systems, such as access control and cameras, are similar enough to electronic alarm systems to warrant the protection found in the All in One agreements. End users have the same misguided perceptions and expections regardless of what security systems they install and rely on. We see lawsuits when alarms, access control and cameras fail to prevent a loss, intrusion, fire or something else. Rely on the All in One agreements for all security and fire. ******************************** Multiples ******************************** Ken, Do you have any idea what typical multiples people are paying for alarm companies? EBITDA or RMR? Thanks, Rogers ******************************* Response ******************************* If I just responded Yes I suppose that wouldn't really satisfy you. Of course I know. I represent sellers and buyers all over the country. I provide valuation of accounts and companies, all over the country. I counsel companies, all over the country. To find out what your company accounts are worth go to What is My Alarm Company Worth? https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/what-is-my-alarm-company-worth To help get the highest price for your accounts you should be using Kirschenbaum Contracts TM https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-contract Alarm monitoring contracts and other security services with RMR will sell based on a multiple. That multiple can vary from barely 15 to over 40, so be smart about how you conduct business; it really does matter. For integration business an EBITDA valuation is more likely. Of course the multiple on that can also vary from as low as 3 to 10 or more. You can make smart choices to ensure that you will receive the higher, or highest, price when ready to sell.
