can you use proposal with All in One
******************
Ken
We purchased several contracts from you in April and July of 2015.  I am aware that there have been some updates.   My question is, in regards to the Commercial and Residential All-in-Ones.  We are working with Perennial Software in AlarmBiller to convert our contracts to e-forms.  Is it necessary to complete the Schedule of Equipment and Services or would it be ok if the customer accepts and signs the proposal?  Does it not list all the same information? And if it is necessary, what information should appear on this form?
    Thank you for your help,
Christie

There have been many updates since 2015 and you really do need to update your agreements.  It would be penny wise and dollar foolish to get started with electronic contract knowing that they are dated forms.  Take advantage of the Contract Sale going on right now.  You have 4 days left and since we fill orders as they came in, you are already going to wait weeks for the forms unless you request expedited service.
The Schedule of Equipment and Services is a Rider to the All in One where you can
list all equipment included in the sale and installation - there is no room in the printed form for this information include description of service to be provided - though the printed form provides for this
provide for payment plan beyond initial deposit and paid on completion of installation [do not provide for interest or extended payment plan.  Perhaps 2 or 3 installments and only if a very large job]
provide for issues that are not addressed in the printed form [no need to cover issues that you will cover in the Disclaimer Notice]
The Schedule of Equipment and Services is essentially a blank form until you fill it out, so you can certainly use your proposal if it contains the information that you would include in the Schedule.  You can write on the Schedule "see proposal" or re-label the proposal the Schedule.  Keep in mind that the printed form agreement does reference the Schedule.

contracting with central station

Ken
We are an alarm dealer who subcontracts our accounts to a monitoring station.  We are interested in getting a legal opinion on our current contract with the Central Station.  Can you provide this and, if so, what are your rates and how would we go about this?  We are looking at 2 areas of it, the term of the contract and the number of account we are obligated to maintain.

I am frequently engaged by dealers to review and negotiate their contract with the central station.  Often I've written the central station's agreement, so I know what to look for.  Account commitment and term of agreement is something that should be clear as day on the face of the Dealer Agreement.  If it's not you are doing business with the wrong central station.  If your central station is using our Standard Dealer Agreement the terms will be easy to find, read and understand.  If your central station send you a contract that makes you throw up, do it, and send it back unsigned.  Check The Alarm Exchange for central stations that are easier to work with.  And yes, the best service is expected and delivered by these central stations.  Any issue with them, let me, and everyone else on this forum, know.
By the way, the time to engage me to review the Dealer Agreement is before you sign it; before you move your accounts to the central or decide to stay there for a new term.  Time for review can range from 1 to several hours, depending on if you ask me to negotiate directly [usually isn't necessary].  The wholesale central station business is very competitive, so there are lots of issues that can be negotiated.
