When is my "train by" date for my employees on sexual harassment?
Perfect timing for this question. Train-by date under New York State law is OCTOBER 9, 2019. You are required to adopt a policy, complaint form and have an interactive training before October 9, 2019, as well as on an annual basis going forward. The law dictates minimum requirements for the policy and training, which you can view here - https://www.ny.gov/programs/combating-sexual-harassment-workplace.
I do not recommend adopting the State's Complaint form. You also should have your employees sign an acknowledgement form, sign in for the training, and indemnification that they will be financial responsible for any damages resulting from their conduct that is outside of their approved scope of work.
