How many PAs can I supervise?

Provided by:  Jennifer Kirschenbaum, Esq.

Question:

Hi Jennifer,

I am looking to bring on a few physician assistants to help out, and i would like to know how many I can supervise.

Thanks, Dr. L

Answer:

Depends where we are talking.  In NY in a private practice, a doctor can supervise 4 PAs at any given time.  At an Article 28 - that number goes from 4 to 6.   https://www.health.ny.gov/professionals/doctors/conduct/physician_assistant.htm
