There are several new changes to the standard alarm contracts

[www.alarmcontracts.com] that warrant your attention and your contracts

should be upgraded at this time.  The changes are as follows:

1.    The exculpatory clause is modified to specify strict product liability.

2.    The limitation of liability clause is modified to specify strict

product liability.

3.    The increase in monthly charge is changed to reflect a right to

increase up to 9% per year, rather than an unspecified amount for increase

and then giving subscriber right to cancel rather than pay.

4.    Security interest clause modified to grant security interest in only

equipment installed, not all subscriber property.

The above changes will be in all contracts ordered at this time.

The following clause dealing with renewal is optional and must be

requested; otherwise the presently worded clause provides for an additional

term renewal that would require a prior notice.  If you don't want to give

notice of renewal, and if the notice is required by your state, you might

want to use this alternate clause:

" TERM OF AGREEMENT: RENEWALS:  The term of this agreement shall be

for a period of ten years.  Thereafter this agreement shall renew itself

month to month under the same terms and conditions, unless either party gives

written notice to the other by certified mail, return receipt requested, of

their intention not to renew the contract at least 30 days prior to the

expiration of any renewal term," [this is from the standard leasing

contract].
