Collection issues

Ken
good information on the collection services you offer.
My question pertains to collections. There are many third-party collection companies that offer this service. Typically they will state their best efforts usually have no more than about 18% collection rate. Do you ever extend your collection services to include a court judgement and garnishment of wages? Or is that too lengthy an effort for this type of contract?
  Thank you sir,
Hank

K&K’s collection department is nothing like a collection agency.  We start lawsuits and pursue through judgment and enforcement proceedings when we think it's worth the expense.  Our clients pay expenses and we will push as far as they want, including contempt proceedings.  Our collection rate is over 50%.  K&K will represent any client using our agreement with the arbitration clause.  We will also consider other litigation or collections if you don’t have our agreements, but we would do that selectively.  Our litigation department is not limited to alarm industry litigation, though we do a lot of that work.
Alarm companies with a steady stream of subscribers who have defaulted should consider utilizing our collection services.  You can expect a recover in over 50% of the cases and generally we try and get at least 70% of what’s owed.  Of course some subscribers simply have no money and no property; you cannot expect recover in those cases.
Suing alarm customers is where I started my law practice 45 years ago;  Had one alarm client then.  As my alarm clientele grew my first client always asked me why I was so successful collecting for the other companies and not so successful with his accounts.  It took some time to figure it out, but one of the defendant – subscribers gave me the best answer.  It turned out that this alarm company owner hounded and harassed his customers before turning them over to me for collection; they hated him and preferred spending money on their lawyer rather than settle or pay.  Do not hound your subscribers.  The best, most effective, time to turn the subscriber over to collection is when they are in default.  If the account is salvageable my staff will save the account and get our legal fees from the subscriber in most cases.  If the account can’t be saved, or you don’t want the account, you will find that we initiate proceedings within a day of receiving the papers from you.  With the arbitration process we get the opportunity to discuss settlement very quickly, and if not possible, proceed with a hearing.
If you have accounts to refer for collection contact me and I’ll set you up with our collection department.
