Under no circumstances did i say, nor imply, that i knew more than an attorney knows!!! Ii simply said i don't use their contracts....and, I mentioned that ours is no-where as good as theirs!!! An engineer is not an attorney..... Yes, I spent a lot of money to get my advanced degree from the engineering division of University of Southern California......that and $3 will get me a great cup of coffee at Starbucks.......plus, however, allow me the knowledge of how to put a business together....which I have, many years ago.... I absolutely recommend using Kirschenbaum's contracts to help protect yourself in dealing with customers.....and, I know, and have known, that I am risking not using them......but, that's my choice ....a choice I don’t recommend for anyone else.....listen to Kirschenbaum..... Your negative comments regarding me make no sense....I have done quite well in life, and make very good decisions, and have made some bad ones.....but, have survived very well, living a good life...I hope the best for you, too.... Somehow, I don't think Kirschenbaum's columns here are for complaining about another alarm dealer!!! It's to listen to Kirschenbaum's advice, which I have found to be very solid and helpful....I appreciate his advice very much!!!! JBF ************************** Response *************************** JBF thank you for your sterling endorsement; I mean it. And I hope you didn’t get too insulted by Bart’s comments; he can’t help himself sometimes. [he doesn’t follow my advice plenty of times]. Alarm dealers need to understand that the contracts are for more than protecting against liability; they are important for enforcing the contracts [collection matters] and selling the accounts [for highest multiple]. The contracts do [and should] make a difference on which central station will agree to monitor you and what that central station will charge for monitoring. Same for the E&O insurance carriers. Seems to me that if you identify a bad decision you may want to correct it, if possible [and using the right contracts is still very possible] and before it’s too late [because it’s great you have had and have a great life, but it aint over yet]. ************************* STANDARD FORMS Alarm / Security / Fire and related Agreements click here: www.alarmcontracts.com *************************** CONCIERGE LAWYER SERVICE PROGRAM FOR THE ALARM INDUSTRY - You can check out the program and sign up here: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/concierge or contact our Program Coordinator Stacy Spector, Esq at 516 747 6700 x 304. *********************** ALARM ARTICLES: You can always read our Articles on our website at ww.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-articles updated daily ******************** THE ALARM EXCHANGE - the alarm industries leading classified and business exchange - updated daily ************************* Wondering how much your alarm company is worth?
