Thank you! David Breed, CEO Tasco Security, Inc ****************************** Another comment ************************ Ken I want to commend Trey for having the courage and integrity to discuss this topic and share their experience with us! Brandt Phillips *************************** Response *************************** I agree that Dynamark is to be commended for sharing its experience and offering its advice on this difficult topic. David, I also agree that “no one owed this forum or readers their experience with remote monitoring”, however, the smart move is to be open and transparent about the practice. What you may not know is that this forum is perhaps the most widely read in the alarm industry, barring none, and that includes all the trade magazines. In my view there is no better way to communicate with the alarm industry, certainly not as fast and efficiently, as on this forum. [By the way, here's what a mentsh means and Trey is a stand up guy: "In Yiddish, mentsh roughly means "a good person". The word has migrated as a loanword into American English, where a mensch is a particularly good person, similar to a "stand-up guy", a person with the qualities one would hope for in a friend or trusted colleague." KK] There are only a few positions on this topic and they include central stations that: * never permitted home remote monitoring * permitted remote monitoring during the “covid crisis” and then stopped the practice * permitted the practice for a period after covid crisis but no longer * permitted the practice and still permit the practice Except for the first option, those who never permitted the practice, the industry is entitled to know at least: * whether any missed signals or customer losses can be attributed to remote operators * an honest answer to whether the central station is still permitting the practice, limited or otherwise. Any central station that still permits the practice should be prepared to explain what precautions are implemented in both technology and operator supervision. There are many central stations listed on The Alarm Exchange, and I suppose there are many others who are not listed and may, or may not, even be aware of this forum. [good luck using those central stations]. Only 7 central stations have decided to participate in the webinar series. It’s no secret that remote monitoring is a high priority topic to be discussed. We, and that means me and you, should wonder, where are all the other central stations? Sure the most prominent ones are presenting, but what of the others, some of whom fancy themselves as prominent? Why are they sitting this out? Are they hiding anything related to this remote operator topic or other topic? Maybe they have all the dealer business they can handle and aren’t looking for new dealers and don’t care about losing dealers [especially to those central stations transparent enough to participate in the webinars]. The central stations presenting will be able to answer questions. Those not participating, well you can track them down and find out where they stand and if they’d be willing to state it publically or send you an affidavit attesting to the truth so you can rest easy that your subscribers are being properly monitored, that you’re getting your money’s worth and you are not unnecessarily exposed to greater liability because of your agreement to indemnify the central station, even for its negligence. Register for the webinars, it’s going to be time well spent. ************************ WEBINARS SCHEDULE and REGISTRATION: SOFTWARE // CENTRAL STATIONS ********************** SOFTWARE WEBINARS: With all the discussion, and dissatisfaction, about management software our first webinar series is by software providers offering comprehensive software programs for the alarm industry. ********************** Title: Fieldhub: All In One Operations and Accounting Software For Security and Fire Integrators When: October 3, 2023 noon ET Why attend: FieldHub is a comprehensive software program that integrates proposals, planning, warehouse inventory management, scheduling, field technician mobile applications, invoicing, accounting, tracking systems and devices, creation and linkage of a central station account, and much more Who should attend: managers and owners Presented by: Miles Fawcett, Founder and CEO of FieldHub Inc. 202.417.8196; miles@fieldhub.com www.fieldhub.com Hosted by: Ken Kirschenbaum, Kirschenbaum & Kirschenbaum PC Register here: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2290942861013931612 *********************** Title: Micro Key Solutions When: October 4, 2023 noon ET Why attend: Robust Accounting and Monitoring Solutions for the Security Alarm Industry delivering user-friendly, seamlessly integrated accounting, service, and central station monitoring software that centralizes your data, integrates service tracking, and streamlines operator communications.
