They probably state it that way to make them look like they are really busy solving crimes across the country. By the way, did SimpliSafe ever get UL listed for residential or commercial burglary or fire? Per the article that Jeffrey Zwirn did some time ago, they were not UL. Ron B **************************** Another comment **************************** Ken, In the case off SimpliSafe and Ring being used as commercial systems. I am curious if are they listed as commercial as well as residential. Regards, Phillip ***************************** Response ***************************** Someone can probably let us know if SimpliSafe or Ring products are UL listed for commercial installations; I don’t know. I also don’t know if either company will promote or install their products in commercial setting. ***************************** Sales tax on monitoring in Kentucky ****************************** Ken A 6% sales tax will be imposed on security monitoring services effective January 1, 2023 for the state of Kentucky. Previously, there was no sales tax due for monitoring services in the state of Kentucky. I wanted to pass it along. Maybe it will help another dealer. Anthony Vanhorn The Security Guy Gleason TN ******************************** Response ******************************** Sales tax on alarm services are often confusing and apparently changing. Be sure to collect sales tax when required and pay it over to the taxing authority timely. Be just as careful not to collect sales tax if not required; you may be required to reimburse your customers and the taxing authority may not issue you a refund.
