Ken
We just installed our first one.   It is great RMR - so hope to do more.   It was a little tricky in that the client needs to confirm their existing elevator phone can accommodate a digital dial tone cell based communicator (this is what the elevator vendor explained to us).  The client ended up having to upgrade their elevator phone.   Once all that was confirmed we had a slight hitch with the elevator vendor needing to program his equipment appropriately.   Thank god we had Rapid Response help us with the set-up, as we had to have their tech wizard speak to the elevator vendor to pull that off.   Didn’t take much – but the right central station is important.
We are currently researching the back-up battery.   Comes with a 10 hour back up battery, but not sure yet how we test it or replace it.
My thought is this is a product that shouldn’t need much attention at all and we are capturing good dollars.
Side note:  We initially had some slow response from KingsIII on some technical questions as we were gearing up for this install, and one of their tech support staff clearly was not helpful.   After reaching out to the sales rep, their response improved.

Ken,
Could we still use the Standard Fire Alarm All in One agreement for Elevator monitoring or do we now need the Standard Elevator Monitoring Agreement?
We recently signed up with Kings III.
Thank you,
Laura

The easiest contract to use would be the Elevator Agreement because it is specific to that service. I think it’s worth the investment to use the correct contract.
The Fire All in One would work if the elevator communication is part of the approved filed plans and specifications, and then you would have to detail the service in the Schedule of Equipment and Services.  If you’re called in just for the elevator monitoring you certainly wouldn’t want to use the Fire All in One
This advice really applies to all the different services you do.  Using the right tool always makes the job easier, and using the right contract will make the sale easier and receive the most favorable review if you’re looking to sell or finance the accounts or just build your company equity.
