Question:

Ken,

Whats the right contract for CCTV ?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Answer:

The two contracts for CCTV are the Standard Security Equipment Sales Contract and the CCTV Sales [which is titled Supervisory Sales Contract]. The CCTV Sales Contract provides for recurring revenue by offering date storage and retrieval, service and central station monitoring of the video. Video central station monitoring qualifies for alarm verification in most jurisdictions that require verification before dispatch to police. The CCTV Sales contract also provides for data storage and retrieval. There is also a CCTV commercial lease, but I have found that most alarm companies prefer to sell the CCTV system. You can get the order form for the CCTV Sales at http://www.alarmcontracts.com/. The Standard Sales Contract is fine for CCTV sales if you are installing CCTV with a local DVR. This contract is for sale and installation only - no monitoring and no service of the system. There is no recurring revenue feature with this contract. If you are installing CCTV with a local DVR only you are losing out on major recurring revenue. By providing central station video monitoring you get to charge recurring revenue. That same contract can cover your service and data storage, additional recurring revenue opportunities for you. There are definitely central stations that monitor video and you need to find one and start offering this service to your subscribers.
