Ken;

See updated Position Paper on Alarm Management, issued by the International Association of Chiefs of Police/ IACP. It will help to answer some of the reader questions about false alarm fines/fees paid by alarm industry, not customer; and other questions about police response.

This position, if widely exercised, could be a gateway to new business models for the traditional alarm industry.

Notable updates~~~.

~ Represents the influence of the entire IACP, not just a sub-committee.

~ Recognizes both "Policy" and "Ordinance".

~ Does not include the "Model Ordinance" developed by the alarm industry.

~ Promotes "Zero Tolerance".

~ Includes "Ceasing Response" a/k/a Verified Response.

~ Includes the option of billing the alarm industry for fines and fees, instead of the alarm user.

~ Encourages SACOP (state police associations) to promote the same position.
