MORE ON SARRG

One comment on SARRG. Every bid spec I have ever bid on in the last 13 years required an AM Best minimum of A-. If B++ is so great then why is it not good enough for most governments & specifiers? I would probably consider their product if I didn't fear not being eligible to bid on certain projects because of my insurance carrier rating. I am not sure how other alarm dealers are getting around this aspect when using SARRG. I would love to get their comment on this.  Also am I understanding correctly that independent insurance brokers can offer their product? Thanks.

in response to Michael Keegan’s comment:
Michael, the information I passed along to Ken’s readers is for informative purposes only. I understand that SARRG has been serving the alarm industry for many years and doing a fine job at that. It is important as a risk adviser for me to simply help people understand the potential issues that could arise. Most contracts at least around the Mid Atlantic from what I have read require AMBest A rated or better companies. SAARG does have very good premiums, rates and coverages. I’ve read the forms. I appreciate you sharing the details on SARRG so that readers can make more informative decisions.

ADDITIONAL INSUREDS
*******************
Ken,
A number of years ago SARRG stopped using the widely used ISO form CG 20 33 10 01 which is the most requested and broadest Additional Insured form.
SARRG now uses a more focused ISO Additional Insured form which now is fast becoming the new normal in the insurance industry.
Construction defect claims from California caused us to make the change. To date we have not contributed to any payouts other than legal fees to extract our insureds from the whirlpool effects of these lawsuits.

Stop the scammers. Get your city council and police department to fine the alarm company. The scammers don't service their systems so they will then be fined and if they don't pay a non-response will follow. Lets clean up the alarm industry now. Take care of your customers and your false alarms. Be responsible!
