MORE ON DIY [DO IT YOURSELF] AND MIY [MONITOR IT YOURSELF]
**************************
Ken
Finally,  someone has spoken in regard to the technology curve catching up on us.  Both Mr. John M. Flanagan and Mr. John Barney have been quite succinct in what the future will bring.  We are done with dialers, direct connect, McCullough, and all the communication antiques in past years.
You people need to move on and pick yourself up by the perverbial bootstraps and stop complaining.  Find new resources of revenue if necessary.  The main liners aren't going to take those type of accounts so someone needs to pick them up (or not).  Deal with it or (well)…die or sell your company and find something else to do.
Thanks for being there to tell it like it is.

With regard to the DIY / MIY systems.
I agree with the general consensus the market revolves around the low end consumer with little or no installation knowledge.
I see two concerns affecting the industry.
1 = This type of system will generate a high level of false alarms that will negatively reflect upon the alarm industry as a whole, in some cases prompting new or modified ordinances.
2 = The owner of such a system would in many cases, become the responder. It would then become a RIY (respond it yourself) or a JWR (John Wayne response)
The potential for injury or worse as they try to be their own police service opens a whole new chain of events.

YOUR OWN CS LINES FROM FEB 17 2015 ARTICLE
**********************************
Ken,
In response to your reader about having their own phone line into the central station and AlarmNet radios.  At USA (which is listed in The Alarm Exchange) we have made arrangements for separate receivers and/or facilities in our central stations for alarm installation companies that want to segregate their AlarmNet accounts as well as their digital signals. This has the same effect as having your own phone line.
Needless to say I hope that your writer is installing/monitoring enough units to warrant the effort and if so we also are very aggressive on pricing.
Thanks
Bart A. Didden, President
U.S.A. Central Station Alarm Corp

USA Central uses the new Dealer Agreement so you will know right away if you are getting your own lines to segregate your accounts.  Make sure you know your cs deal.

SIGNING CONTRACT IN CA
**************************
Ken
I am starting to do E-Contracts through Docusign and I think I was told the sales representative had to sign the agreement for it to be valid in California and the company had to sign as well.   Is this true?
Thank you,
CRH

Contract must be signed by company (authorized agent), and the contract has to include the sales person's name and registration number.
