follow up issue re closing your own monitoring center

Ken
Thank you for being quite generous with your decades of industry experience and relevant legal advice. Regarding your article on September 18, 2018, “Is it time to give up your own central station”, Here is another talking point that did not exist several years ago, but is now getting traction from the evolution of time, technology, society, politics…. InterAction With Law Enforcement. Several states, including FL,TX, GA, and hundreds of municipalities have already banned licensed private monitoring firms from calling the police on-demand for emergency response unless they provide remote- witness-verification of a 911 type action. Deterrent alarm systems are often treated as nuisance alarms.
Before giving up local control, consider the legal and attrition consequences of sloppy compliance with current and future local legislated requirements. And the attention to details, such as constant updating their data base of your local customer names and phone numbers for compliance. The simplicity of national monitoring of millions of deterrent and defensive alarm customers has quickly turned into a very different business model. Many of the large popular third party monitoring firms are operating way over-their-heads. Lot to think about when looking forward.

whats the fee going to be

Ken
I need your help with a buy sell agreement. I run a small contract central station and two of my dealers want to get out of the business. Both dealers owe me amounts equal to the value of the accounts and I just need to have a agreement that says that all the account and the telephone number for the business will be sold for the price that they each owe the me respectively. What would the fee be to put something together. Thanks

As any fee is probably more than you want to spend, how about this:
"We agree that I know own all your accounts" Signed by dealer and cs
    No charge
If you want something more professional then we can prepare it. The draft will run about $1000 but I have no idea how much time you or the dealers will want to discuss the agreement or make changes. All that increases the charges. I don't know if any attorneys out there would be willing to give you a flat rate, but I would be careful engaging a lawyer on that basis. You may find the work starting to lag or get sloppy or not get done at all once you have exceeded the reasonable time covered by the flat rate.
