Connecticut alarm company wanted to use our Standard Employment Agreement created for a NY alarm company but found that the agreement had a provision specific to NY law.  The law required the alarm company employer, within 10 days of commencement of employment and again on or before February 1st of each calendar year where such employment remains in effect, provide Employee with a wage rate notice which substantially complies with Section 198.1 of the New York Labor Law.  So the CT alarm co wanted to know if CT had a similar law.  It doesn't.  But CT does have a law that requires:
Under Conn. Stat. 31-71f: An employer must advise its employees in writing, at the time of hiring, of the rate of pay, hours of employment and wage payment schedules, and inform employees, either in writing or through a posted notice maintained in a place accessible to his employees, of:
(a)    Any employment practices and policies, or
(b)   Any changes to wages, vacation pay, sick leave, health and welfare benefits, practices and policies, and any comparable matters.
In regards to any wage reduction, the employer’s obligations are essentially the same: an employer must inform employees in writing or through a posted notice maintained in a place accessible to his employees, any changes to wages, vacation pay, sick leave, health and welfare benefits, practices and policies, and any comparable matters.
Connecticut does not have any laws requiring employers to provide employees at the time of payment any notice of wages paid, wage rates, deductions, or other wage payment information.
Employment laws in all states are complex.  You can sign up for our Employment and Labor Law e-newsletter sent out regularly by Judge Ruth Kraft and she is available to assist you with your labor and employment law issues.
All of your employees should be party to an Employment Agreement; we have created a standard form that you can easily understand and fill out,  Outside sales agents should be signing our Affiliate Sales Agreement, also available on our web site at www.alarmcontracts.com,

Our office can also provide you with a standard office manual or can customize a manual for you.

Aore rants from AZ

The Police have continued to respond to alarms since the passage of HB2748. The sole intent behind Police being able to DEMAND alarm company client information, without a warrant, was to provide Police and Cities with a way to collect assessment fees and other revenues from Citizens who use alarms. This was a payoff to Cities so the Alarm Companies could continue selling taxpayer funded resources, such as the Police Department.
The falsehoods and attacks against Arizona Small Business Owners and the Rights of the Citizens of Arizona should be stopped. Over regulation and an attempt to disregard the over reach by Municipalities, who provide them favoritism, has led to Municipalities disregarding State preemption and the Arizona Constitution. From the illegal licensing of Contractors, by Municipalities, to the illegal stealing of money via the taxing of Alarm Monitoring as Communications, the Cities  have brought forth unconstitutional licensing and laws that present direct attacks against Arizona's Small Business community and the Rights of the Citizens of Arizona.
