comment on rising Alarmnet charges

Ken:
The ‘John from NJ’ “rant” regarding the charges AlarmNet is now leveling against the industry….. while he believes he has a point, this is one of the reasons I went radio in 1983 instead of relying upon another entity controlling my future (and my pocketbook).
There are long range radio manufactures that would be HAPPY to talk to John From NJ I am quite sure…..KP Electronics in Israel, AES and I believe there are others that would be happy to chime in as well!!
Why keep replacing Cell units when you make money installing and not going back (and fighting with the customer over who will pay for this next XG upgrade???)
    Just my thoughts!
Respectfully,
Joseph Pfefer

John is always passionate in his position and usually right. And Joe is right too. There are usually options when selecting equipment. Your own radio network is one of them. Fighting with subscriber over the cost of replacing obsolete equipment should not be one of your problems if you use the Standard Form Agreements, which adequately address that issue.

does Standard Form Agreement cover PA

Ken,
Does our contract (Residential All in One) cover or what does cover our company for the “Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act” here in PA.
Thanks

The Standard Form Agreements are customized state by state to comply with the state's laws, including the every changing and inventive consumer laws. PA does have many laws that needed addressing in the Standard Form Agreements, but it isn't really that unique among pain in the butt states that go overboard with consumer laws [that in my humble opinion violate the US Constitution that laws should not be passed that abrogate the right to contract - something like that]. Add CA, TX and NJ among others to the list. So last time we checked, the answer was yes it covers the PA consumer laws. If you think we left something out let me know.
