Audio [and video] laws are posted on our web site at: https://www.kirschenbaumesq.com/page/alarm-law-issues
All states are either one party or all parties to the conversation.  Looks like in SC you need the consent of the person whose audio is intercepted.

What is the law regarding having audio in your own home?  I see several of DIYs advertising home audio with their cameras.

You can consent to record conversations in your own home.  Obviously you can't rent out the place and have audio in place to listen in to the tenants.  However, while you live there you can have audio.

VIDEO MONITORING
**********
Ken,
Looking through your list of contracts for sale I did not notice a contract for video monitoring.  Is it listed under another name and I just missed it?  Also do you have a contract for remote door access control where we are the hosting server / company?

The Residential All in One and the Commercial All in One both cover video services and audio.  If you use alarm.com services then you will need the alarm.com Rider.  Other vendors don't require an additional agreement to be signed by the end users [nor do they need to].

ANOTHER COMMENT ON FIRE INSPECTIONS AND NFPA 72 (FROM NOV 16 2015 ARTICLE)
**********
I was quite surprised at the email that you received [Nov 16, 2015] asking you questions about NFPA 72. Here are my concerns. With all due respect and in my opinion, Mr. Boss as a State of New Jersey Licensed Alarm Contractor, should already be fully familiar with NFPA 72, long before he undertook the duty to install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors for his subscribers, whether for residential and/or commercial premises; especially when it comes to the mission critical requirements of inspection, testing and maintenance, as set forth and specifically codified in NFPA 72.  See Chapter 14- Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance. 2013 Edition- For ease of reference this section starts on page 72-75.
Having said that, Mr. Boss do you have a copy of NFPA 72? If not my question to you is why not?  Furthermore, before you sent your email to Ken for code advice, what were you doing to ensure that your company was in compliance with NFPA 72? My strong recommendation is that you immediately sign up for my December 7th, NJ State Approved CEU courses, which is being held in Northern New Jersey, whereby you will get the technical answers that you need. I truly appreciate your honestly in not knowing and asking for help, but these core fundamentals are critically important for you to know before you sell fire alarm systems, and for all other alarm contractors as well; not only to help minimize your liability, but to ensure that each of your subscribers are equipped with life safety systems that are reliable and meet NFPA 72 code requirements.
Kindly be advised that NFPA 72 is adopted in the State of New Jersey and is a statutory duty for all alarm contractors in our State. Most recently, the 2013 Edition was adopted, so before you pull a permit for about the next six months, you will have to declare on same whether you are following the 2013 edition requirements, or the earlier adopted edition of NFPA 72. Finally, and as previously stated to all readers of this forum, you should immediately purchase all applicable forms that Ken sells.  At the same time, you need to know NFPA 72, because failure to comply could render your contract void, since it is an adopted Fire Code in most jurisdictions, and a non-compliant fire alarm system will increase your risk to liability. Similarly, it could be a significant proximate cause to the damages sustained relating to serious personal injury, death, and/or loss of property.
