Question - total connect

************

Ken,

I have purchased some of your legal contracts for my security business and I had a question for you about the new Honeywell TotalConnect service offerings.

Most of the alarm systems we install are TotalConnect ready and we give the customer the option to enable this service at the time of signing the monthly monitoring agreement or just choosing to activate it as a standard alarm system without the 2 way integration from the TotalConenct iPhone App or the website. Is there any new agreement available or supplementing the All-In-One contract I purchased to cover these newer services?

There is a new contract - it's the Subscriber Enabled Monitoring Service contract.

Question - PERS

**************

Ken,

I am looking for an individual that can provide and/or help us write a monitoring contract for personal emergency response systems. Basically, we are bidding on a agreement with a property in which we will be monitoring 120 "help I've fallen and can't get up" systems in which I will need a monitoring agreement between our company and the property.

Can you please let us know if you can help us in the area, and if so what are your current rates for such a project?

Thanks for your time.

Get the Personal Emergency Response contract.  It comes as a Sale or Lease.

Question - Covert cameras

*************

Hi Ken,

We have a client that provides therapy, training, employment and housing for people with various disabilities.  They have asked us to install covert cameras in one of their homes (owned by the client/organization) to monitor an employee who cares for a minor that resides there.  Assuming no audio, and that the cameras will not view bedrooms or bathrooms, would you have an issue proceeding with this project?

Thanks,

Anon

You can install covert cameras in your own home to video yourself.  You can view anyone who consents.  You can also view areas where no privacy is expected.  In your question, if the resident-patient consent, in person or by guardian, then the cameras can be installed anywhere.  The caretakers are not being asked to consent, and I assume they will not be aware of the cameras.  Therefore, any area where the caretakers disrobe or use the bathroom, there should not be cameras.  Caretakers however, are not entitled to privacy in the resident's room or bathroom.  [they should be told they are not permitted to use those areas].
