To all the central stations out there:  With all this hub bub about central stations; why should I pick you to monitor my accounts?  I would like to hear from the central stations.
Please don't write a book!

Response

If I am reading this issue correctly, as framed by Lee and addressed by Bart, it’s all about police response to alarm dispatch, or lack thereof.  Without police or fire response the argument is that the alarm is of little or no value.
I challenge the proposition that most police and FD aren’t responding or responding responsibly; I suspect they are doing their jobs unless civil unrest renders both alarms and first responder response impossible.  There’s plenty of that going on in some cities.
Dealer X is asking central stations to justify their services.  They are welcome to respond.

Curtain is pulled back on alarm monitoring operations articles October 23rd & Nov. 3rd, 2021
Greetings Ken. It’s been a long time.
Bart Didden’s comments posted on November 3, 2021 had me laughing to the point that I’ve come out of retirement for a moment to respond to a couple of his questions.
Bart asked, “But I do have some questions for Lee Jones. Who is “we”?
Answer: I’ve heard “we” is Lee and a mouse in his pocket, and no one else.
Bart asked, “Where have “we” ever made a public presentation?”
Answer: Watch Lee presenting live (3 minutes) to the Fontana City Council here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdDPZlkHnk
A note on Fontana: Two years after this city council meeting the alarm industry settled the results of two successful lawsuits we had to bring against Fontana. That included a fair alarm ordinance drafted cooperatively between the industry and Fontana Police, and, the city was required to pay all of our industry’s legal fees; over $357,000! As a good will gesture, we also agreed to let the city retain fines they had illegitimately collected during the legal challenges.
Bart asked, “What is the stated business purpose of “Support Services Group”?”
Answer: SUPPORT SERVICES GROUP The purpose of the corporation is to engage in any lawful act or activity for which a corporation may be organized under the General Corporation Law of California other than the banking business, the trust company business or the practice of a profession permitted to be incorporated by the California Corporations Code. [source: Articles of Incorporation #C-1337573 filed with California Secretary of State Apr. 22, 1985]
It is interesting that Lee still maintains this filing, which he just renewed Oct. 1, 2021. For many years however, this filing has been illegitimately registered with the Secretary of State’s office because, as his Agent for Service of Process, he lists the address as a UPS Mailbox in La Quinta California. That’s not permitted in California because it’s not a physical home or business where he can be served.
Looking back, I should thank Lee for his incessant private communications with numerous cities and counties. This contributed greatly to quite a few tough false alarm campaigns I then had to deal with. It kept me in demand and gainfully employed for many more years. Through Freedom of Information Act requests, “we” began to actually see what he was writing and sending to them; these would turn up after a Police Chief or Sheriff complained in the news about false alarms. Then they would threaten to stop responding to alarms, or worse – fine the alarm companies for all false alarms. So thank you Lee. What a long strange trip it’s been, and Happy Birthday.
 Regards,
Jon Sargent
