Question:

Hi Jennifer,

Is it time for me to certify my compliance plan with the government again?

Thanks, Dr. S

Answer:

Dr. S, thanks for asking!  Yes, you are required to certify with the Office of Medicaid Inspector General every December if you qualify as a required provider for a compliance program.  As a refresher, if you order or receive more than $500,000 of Medicaid monies (straight Medicaid or Medicaid HMO), you are required to have a compliance plan and to certify.  For a reminder of what has to be in the compliance plan, click here.  To obtain a compliance plan from our firm, click here. NYS Medicaid still requiring Service Bureaus?
Related news - it seems the New York State Medicaid program has removed all references or links to Service Bureau registration as related to Third Party Billing companies.  If anyone has additional information on this, please contact me. I am curious as to whether or not Third Party Billing companies are still required to register or certify as Service Bureaus.
